Mark Hatfield, Associate
I was born and raised in Kentucky, and received my education there as well. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, from Transylvania University, with a minor in Communications. I entered law school at the University of Kentucky College of Law immediately following my time at Transylvania. While at UK, I served as an Articles Editor for the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture and Natural Resources Law and was a recipient of the College of Law Pro Bono Award. I was also a member of the Appalachian Law Caucus, Business Law Society, Christian Legal Society and Sports Law Society. While in Law school I worked primarily for the non-profit organization, Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, but also had stints of clerking for companies here in Indiana. During my first summer of law school I worked as a legal intern for The Finish Line, Inc., and during my second summer, I worked as a law clerk for the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
My connection to Indiana does not stop with summer internships. In fact, perhaps the most impressive thing I can say about myself is that I married an Indiana Hoosier, Casey (Corsaro) Hatfield. We have a three-year-old daughter, Paisley Hatfield who arranges activities to cover most of my free time. I am an avid sports enthusiast and if Paisley does not have me drawing or playing with princesses, you can likely find me watching various sporting events. For the curious mind, I am also a descendant of the Hatfield family made famous by the 2012 History Channel mini-series “Hatfields & McCoys.”
I was admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Indiana in the fall of 2017 after sitting for the bar in July of 2017. I am currently a member of the Indiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, Indianapolis Bar Association and Johnson County Bar Association. My areas of practice currently consist of debt collection and general litigation, but I also assist in several other areas including workers compensation defense, personal injury and business formation.
